バン二★大好き: September '12 updates

As you've noticed I've changed the whole template of my blog. I'll just list down changes I did on the blog:

1. Template change, I'm using a whole new template - green is too old school, white's better.
2. Font change - changed the usual 'coming soon' and 'schoolbell' fonts to just pure 'trebuchet'.
3. Resize banner/blog title - from 1300px to 650px.
4. Link redirect on widgets - only links that redirect readers out from my blog will open up on a new tab or window, archive links has been fixed.
5. Wind chime has been fixed for Firefox - wasn't working as intended recently.
6. Navbar is removed as usual - sharing and +1 for G+ is placed below the wind chime and IP hit tracker.
7. Blogger profile removed - linking my blog to G+.

I guess these are all the updates applied on my blog that I can think off. If you think there's something I should change or there's a bug, do leave me a comment, I'll try to apply the changes.


/sidenote: gave up on IE, no matter how I try to tweak the script to IE, it still look shitty. Stick with Firefox and Chrome, folks.

[Cardfight!! Vanguard] Tag team fight rules

Preparation

1. Form a team of 2.
2. Each player must have 1 deck.
3. Do not discuss or look at each other's hand during the game.

Basic rules
Starting hand: 5
How to win:

• Team with a combination of 9 or more damages lose the game.
• Team with the fighter that have 0 card left in his/her deck lose the game.

Tag fight rule

1. Each fighters have 1 field but the damage zone will be shared by the team,
• e.g. Fighter on the right can use the damage zone of the fighter on the left.
• e.g. In order for the Heal trigger to activate, total damages between the teams will be used as comparison instead of individual players. However, you may not recover damage(s) of your teammate.
• e.g. Limit Break activates by the total amount of damages of both players.
2. Fighters can only attack the opposing fighter in front.
3. When being attacked the team mate may call a unit onto the guardian zone from hand to help, however:
• intercepting is NOT allowed;
• the units that are being called to guardian zone must be equivalent to teammate's VG's grade.
4. Counterblast and Soul Blast costs are shared between the team members.
• e.g. Soul Savior Dragon needs to Soul Blast *5 to activate it's skill, fighter may Soul Blast *3 from his/her own soul and use Soul Blast *2 from his/her team mate's Soul.

Starting the game

1. 4 players will play a game of "scissors, paper, stone" to decide the first fighter.
2. From a team like the one above Team A (Misaki, Kamui) and Team B (Aichi, Kai), the sequence will be from Kamui >> Kai >> Misaki >> Aichi >> Kamui... in a figure 8.
3. The first 3 fighters can not attack, in the scenario like above Aichi will be the first fighter to attack in this fight.

How to read the card text

1. [Your] will means the fighter who is using that unit, player may not select your team mate as a target.
• e.g. Isolde's skill "自 : [choose a 《Royal Paladin》 from your hand, and discard it] When this unit is placed on 【Ｇ】, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose one of your 《Royal Paladin》 will not be hit till end of that battle." Player can not use this skill and target an unit on your team mate's field.
• e.g. Silent Tom's skill "永 【Ｖ／Ｒ】 : When this unit attacks, if you have an 《Oracle Think Tank》 Vanguard, your opponent may not normal call a Grade 0 to 【Ｇ】." = Your opponent's team mate MAY normal call a G0 onto the Guradian Circle.
2. [All players] will be targeting all 4 fighters.
• e.g. Dark Cat's skill "自 : When this unit gets ride or called onto 【Ｖ】 or 【Ｒ】 and you have an 《Oracle Think Tank》 Vanguard, all players may draw 1 card" = all 4 players may draw 1 card.

[Cardfight!! Vanguard] Thoughts on Neo Nectar for the upcoming BT08

In less than 10 days, BT08 will be released and among all clans, the new units from Neo Nectar made me came in my pants. Yes, you heard me, not Dimension Police, nor Aqua Force, but Neo Nectar.

Currently, NN is stuck with the units released on BT05. However, with the release BT08, NN has added two new main Vanguard, namely White Lily Musketeer, Cecilia and Arboros Dragon, Sephirot. After tons of irl proxy and Byond testing, I have to say I prefer Sephirot over Cecilia. Don't get me wrong, Cecilia is a good unit if you know how to use. However, Sephirot on the other hand, is just simply straightforward, yet versatile. Combining Sephirot and Trailing Rose, it's a nightmare to opponent if you play them right and fielding a perfect formation. Besides, Sephirot is a fucking dragon, not a fag like that guy over at FF7 who keeps getting his ass handed to him.

Let's skip the lame jokes and get back to the topic. Why do I think Sephirot is that good?

Now, let's look at all the Arboros Dragons' abilities:

アルボロス・ドラゴン “新芽” - Arboros Dragon, Ratoon
自 : When you ride "Arboros Dragon, Branch" on this unit, you may look at the top 7 cards of you deck and select up to one "Arboros Dragon, Timber" or "Arboros Dragon, Sephirot" to add to your hand. After that, place the remaining cards to the top of your deck and shuffle.

自 : When you ride a 《Neo Nectar》 unit other than "Arboros Dragon, Branch", you may move this unit to 【Ｒ】.

アルボロス・ドラゴン “若枝” - Arboros Dragon, Branch
永【Ｖ】 : If your Soul contains "Arboros Dragon, Ratoon", this unit gains 1000 power.

自 : If you ride "Arboros Dragon, Timber" on top of this unit, and your soul contains "Arboros Dragon, Ratoon", choose one of your 《Neo Nectar》 Rearguard, search your deck for up to one card with the same name as that unit, call it to 【Ｒ】, and shuffle your deck.

永【Ｖ】 : If your Soul contains "Arboros Dragon, Branch", this unit gains 1000 power.

自 : If you ride "Arboros Dragon, Sephirot" on top of this unit, and your soul contains "Arboros Dragon, Branch", choose one of your 《Neo Nectar》 Rearguard, search your deck for up to one card with the same name as that unit, call it to 【Ｒ】, and shuffle your deck.

アルボロス・ドラゴン “聖樹” - Arboros Dragon, Sephirot
永【Ｖ】 :LIMIT BREAK 4 (This ability activates when you have four or more damage) All your 《Neo Nectar》 units gain the following ability: "永【Ｖ／Ｒ】: During your turn, if there is a unit with the same name as this unit on 【Ｖ／Ｒ】, this unit gains 3000 power".

永【Ｖ】 : If your Soul contains "Arboros Dragon, Timber", this unit gains 1000 power.

Basically, with Sephirot, it's simply easy to dish out 22-23k lines, and you might even go up to 25k per lines if you know how to field your units correctly. Furthermore, you don't really need Iris Knight anymore, you could just spam Maiden of Rainbow Wood and Glass Bead Dragon with Arboros Dragon, Timber for grade 2's. Imagine Rainbow Wood or Glass Bead on the Rearguard circle, boosted by any same 7k unit or Corolla Dragon. That's easily 22-23k in power and you can Counter Blast *2 when you hit an opponent's unit to draw a card. If the specify unit is your opponent's Vanguard, he/she'll have to take a damage, which leads me to my next point - DOUBLE PROFIT!

With Sephirot, you'll be able to play your deck as a Meta deck, Anti-meta deck or even a Sweeper deck. Damn you, Sephirot.

"LOL! AKI!!! BUT I MISRIDE!!!" Aha! And that's where Trailing Rose comes in. For early game, you don't necessarily need to ride Sephirot, unless you're able to perfect ride with a Rearguard intact on a Rearguard circle, which allows you to target it and superior "profit" call it from your deck onto a Rearguard Circle. The usage of Counter Blast in the deck is limited, unless you plan to keep spamming Rainbow Wood or Glass Bead's abilities. The fact that you are able to pressurize your opponent with Trailing Rose during early game with her Persona Blast, coupled with Rainbow Wood or Glass Bead is great. Your opponent will be at a loss on guarding here and there to stop you from using any ability. This indirectly means you're reducing your opponent hand cards by forcing them to guard, and if they don't, you'll be drawing more cards or calling more units onto the field.

By late game, you can ride Sephirot onto the Vanguard circle, disregarding whether is Timber in the Soul, provided you have already arranged your units in a good formation.

For example, I did this on Byond:

Kay, obviously my opponent's name is not Player 1, I just censor his/her name, in case he/she gets offended, because I screenshot our match. That aside, by fielding such formation, I'm able to create all 25k on my two Rearguard line, while Soul Charging Watering Elf and giving 3k to Sephirot, I'm making another 25k line on the Vanguard line. Basically, I successfully made 3 25k lines that match. Unfortunately, my opponent wasn't able to ride Law Official, Lox , so his/her Guardian of Truth, Lox was only 10k in power. See that, Ezel? It's painful, no? o i haer u say PBO and JIENDO?

In conclusion, Sephirot does indeed deserve to receive "One Winged Angel" as it's theme song when you ride it. He's just that awesome. That's it, I'm shifting to Neo Nectar as my main deck! Bye bye, Imouto deck... /sadface
