First, he needs 5 damages before he is able to use his LB. Capping him at 4 damages will render him useless, except for the extra 2k if he does have BE (Blond Ezel) in his Soul.
Second, his LB ability is the almost the same thing as SSD, Zeal or Sephirot. It gives only power and that can be repel in many ways. Nulls, tons of hand cards, eliminating Rearguards, etc. Heck, Sephirot is even much scarier than this since it is able to deal high power damage every turn by just LB'ing without the need to pay any other cost. Besides, PE's LB ability is somewhat to deal "Final Turn", that's all.
Third, 13k isn't a new thing anymore, unless you're playing English version. We've come a long way since BT05, we've already adapt to looking at crossride units such as The End and PBO. We will eventually adapt to the current situation.
That being said, the main reason why PE is viewed as OP is because the whole clan itself, GP is very strong.
As I've said in my previous post, PE is good in the sense that no matter which G3 you ride, you can ride and still get away with it, because BE or PE itself is strong enough to fight as it is. This is unlike previous crossride decks that heavily emphasize on both G3 units in the deck: pre-crossride unit and crossride unit to really threaten your opponent.
Furthermore, with GP as the current meta, you can be damn sure BSR will be releasing more cards to support GP, as if it needs more card. It's not even helping when GP is already a very versatile clan with tons of playing style and units to toy with.
For now, this is what I can imagine for a Ezel-based GP deck:
Grade 0
Kyrph *1 (staring VG)
Flame of Victory *4 (critical)
Silent Punisher *4 (critical)
Falcon Knight of the Azure *4 (draw)
Elixir Sommelier *4 (heal)
Grade 1
Gareth *4
Mark *4
DoP/Haugan *3 (either force LB unit or extra power)
Raging Storm/DoP *2 (either Soul Charger or force LB unit)
Tron *2
Grade 2
Beaumains *4
Bagdemagus *4
Tripp/MoP *3 (either unflipper or force LB unit)
Grade 3
BE *4
PE *3
PE itself is not OP, it's a great unit, but GP as a whole is a huge screw trying to fit into your butthole.
/sidenote: I'm not endorsing, nor encouraging more crossride units, they break the game in a way or another. But, what can we do? BSR are the ones who release the cards. Unless all the players boycott the game together, or it'll be the "if you don't like it, don't play it" situation all over again.
PEzel is not strong, and GP as a cannot put him in whily-nilly, seeing as they need every bit of counterblast to be productive
ReplyDeleteAgreed. PE is a strong card but not OP. There are so many ways to deny a LB5. Just keep him at 4 damage and crit him for the win.
